It’s been a long time. 5 years hasn’t it? I wasn’t around for you back then, but I have come to understand what it was like. You all had worked so hard, and been through so much already, yet still you debuted with confidence and energy. Little by little, as you appeared in different formats to reveal yourselves to the people, they came to love you. And why shouldn’t they? You all exhibit such uniqueness, so much of your own personalities, but it never detracts from the whole. Instead, everything about you blends together to form a bond that is stronger than steel. This Soshibond, this sisterhood, allows for you to live your dreams while also living the dream that is SNSD. “We are only SNSD when we stand together as one.” Nothing can break that. It hasn’t always been easy for you. From separation from loved ones to dealing with unwarranted scorn; obstacle after obstacle has been placed in your path. And yet here you are, 5 years later: stronger, better, surrounded by those who love each and every thing about every one of you. Your Sones. No one knows What the future may hold. But I do know one thing that it does: HOPE. Hope that, no matter what comes, you will each be as happy as you can possibly be. Hope that there will not be any more need for your tears. Hope that together, SNSD and Sones can bring what light we can to the rest of the world. I wasn’t around for the start, but I will be for the end. Happy 5th Anniversary, my girls.
